Haris “Harris” Hodovic is a visionary, award-winning creative genius—or as some might call him, a Film director. A former dancer, Harris made a name for himself in the entertainment world. Born and raised near Stuttgart in Germany, Harris discovered his passion for dance early in 1985 and became a founding member of the renowned Southside Rockers. This internationally acclaimed breakdance group was at the forefront of the scene in the 1990s, significantly contributing to the global popularity of breakdancing.
After conquering stages worldwide, Harris decided to channel his creative talents behind the camera. As a co-founder of the dance community Whogotskillz, he played a central role in promoting and marketing US star choreographers who worked with superstars like Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson, Chris Brown, Missy Elliott, Janet Jackson, and Madonna. Harris understands both the client and agency sides, having developed campaigns for brands like NikeWomen and Coca-Cola.
A pivotal moment in Harris’ career was discovering the then-unknown artist Cro in 2011. He wrote, directed, and produced the music video for Cro’s song “Easy,” which became Germany’s first viral hit and earned several Echo nominations. That same year, he received another Echo nomination for “Kris” by Revolverheld. This success cemented Harris’ decision to dedicate himself fully to directing.
Harris has collaborated with international music giants like Snoop Dogg, Timbaland, Mario Winans, Moonbootica and Redman, creating outstanding music videos. Additionally, he has developed advertising campaigns for various industries, including automotive, food, fashion, and military.
His latest project, “LE TERRAIN VAGUE,” won the prestigious short film award at the Urban Film Festival in Paris in 2024, highlighting Harris’ ability to craft compelling and meaningful stories.
